TQL Wins Greater Cincinnati's Best Places To Work Award
Cincinnati – Thanks to the feedback of its employees in the Greater Cincinnati region, Total Quality Logistics (TQL) is a winner in the Business Courier of Cincinnati’s 2012 Best Places to Work competition for employers with 1,000 employees or more. This is TQL’s sixth time named to the list and its second win.
Winners in the Business Courier’s Best Places to Work competition are determined by how employees rank their workplace on factors such as recognition, benefits, trust in senior leaders, and team effectiveness. Surveys are administered by Quantum Workplace, an independent, third-party survey firm.
According to comments published by the Business Courier in its special supplement distributed on November 2, 2012, “companies that invested in training” scored big with employees. That is enormously important to TQL
“We have always invested a great deal of time and capital in training and development which has helped us us to grow into the second largest freight brokerage in the nation in just 15 years,” said Kerry Byrne, executive vice president of TQL. “Training will always be a cornerstone of this company.”
Another common factor among the winning companies: all were quick to find reasons for staff members to celebrate together.
“Every chance we get, in big and small ways, we celebrate the people and culture we have created at TQL. From patio parties and fundraising events, like our recent ‘Pinktober’ celebration, to quarterly team outings, we enjoy doing things together. Strong teams are built by strong relationships both inside and outside of the office,” said Byrne.
Locally, TQL employs nearly 1,500. The company employs more than 2,000 nationwide, with new satellite offices and expansion of satellite offices recently announced in West Chester, Ohio, Cleveland, Ohio, and Denver, Colorado. TQL is currently hiring entry-level sales professionals who can help the company secure new accounts and manage their customers’ transportation needs.
