TQL to Receive Award for Outstanding Work with National Guard

Total Quality Logistics (TQL) will receive an award from the American Jobs for America’s Heroes (AJAH) campaign on October 23 at the National Guard Association of the United States, headquartered in Washington D.C.

“TQL is proud to be a part of the American Jobs for America’s Heroes campaign. We hire vets and members of the National Guard because they possess the skills and values we are looking for – an outstanding work ethic, the ability to learn new skills quickly, and the tenacity for creating success in any situation,” said TQL Executive Vice President Kerry Byrne.

TQL made the announcement during an Oct. 7 visit from Ohio Governor John Kasich. Gov. Kasich was visiting the company’s Western Hills office in Cincinnati, in part to recognize the company’s military hiring efforts.

“Any business that puts veterans at the top is clearly a business that understands values, because veterans served us and now you’re serving them,” commented Gov. Kasich.

The AJAH campaign is a non-profit alliance with the National Guard, developed and managed by the non-profit organization Center for America, to help unemployed National Guard members, veterans, and their spouses find skilled jobs in the private sector. The campaign includes more than 160 trade and professional organizations, non-profit organizations, and state chambers of commerce.

This is the first award presented by the Center of America Award for Outstanding Commitment and Leadership. It will be presented during a ceremony at The Hall of Flags on Oct. 23. TQL will be recognized, along with several other employers, trade associations, nonprofits, and National Guard associations.

“The mission is critical – there are tens of thousands of highly trained and motivated National Guard members and veterans who will provide the integrity and adaptability needed in the American private sector,” said Steve Nowlan, Center for America president and CEO.

TQL’s military hiring efforts have been recognized several times over the past two years. The company received a Seven Seals Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves (ESGR) in 2013 for its exemplary support of employees in the National Guard and Reserve. TQL was an Ohio nominee for the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award in 2013. In 2014, TQL earned the Military Friendly Employer® title from G.I. Jobs magazine.
