TQL Supports Breast Cancer Research with Sixth Annual Loads for a Cure

The annual Loads for a Cure campaign returns to Total Quality Logistics Oct. 17 to 23.

For the sixth straight year, TQL will donate a portion of every load moved next week to the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Fund.

Last year’s Loads for a Cure campaign raised nearly $24,000. Since its inception in 2011, Loads for a Cure has contributed almost $90,000 just to Making Strides. Overall, TQL and its employees have donated more than $160,000 to the American Cancer Society since 2010.

“Cancer affects every one of us at TQL, whether directly or indirectly,” said Kerry Byrne, TQL president. “This is a chance for the company to work together with our customers and carriers to bring the dream of finding a cure closer to reality.”

Loads for a Cure is one of two companywide donation events based on TQL’s core business – moving freight.

The other – Hauls for Heroes – set a TQL single-week record in May for most loads moved and provided a $27,029 donation to charities supporting military members, veterans and their families.

TQL has been shining a literal light on the fight against breast cancer all month. Corporate headquarters in Cincinnati is lit in pink every night during October, reminding thousands of passers-by on I-275 of the fight to end cancer.
