TQL Raises Close to $20k to Support the Troops
Cincinnati – Total Quality Logistics (TQL) raised $19,488 during its sixth annual $1 Per Load Memorial Day fundraising effort. One dollar from every load TQL arranged during the week of May 12 was set aside for the Yellow Ribbon Support Foundation. TQL employees, customers, and carriers strongly supported the effort, leading to a record-breaking week of loads moved and a record-breaking donation to help the troops.
“This program is bigger than TQL now,” said Byrne. “Our customers and carriers strongly support this initiative. One of our customers contacted us this year and joined us in the effort, matching our $1 per load donation from the loads moved for their company during the week.”
TQL started the $1 Per Load Memorial Day fundraising campaign in 2009. The first year, the program raised approximately $5,500. As the company has grown, so has its annual contribution. In six years, TQL has raised a total of more than $72,000 for the Yellow Ribbon Support Foundation through its $1 Per Load Campaign.
“This donation is made each year with respect and gratitude for our country’s military servicemen and women,” said Kerry Byrne, TQL executive vice president.
The Yellow Ribbon Support Foundation oversees both the Let Us Never Forget Scholarship Fund and the Yellow Ribbon Support Center. The Scholarship Fund provides post-secondary education scholarships in the names of fallen soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines to ensure they are never forgotten. The Support Center sends care packages to military service members deployed overseas.
“Our mission is to support the men and women serving in harm’s way and to remember those that don’t walk off the plane,” said Founder and Director of the Yellow Ribbon Support Center, Keith Maupin. “Through the generous support from TQL, the mission will continue until they all come home. Thank you to all those who make this happen year after year.”
TQL is a proud supporter of the U.S. military veteran community. In March, TQL reaffirmed its commitment to the country’s National Guard and Reserve members by signing a national commitment statement at a ceremony in Tampa, Florida.
