TQL Now the Second Largest Freight Brokerage in North America
Cincinnati – Transport Topics, the weekly newspaper of trucking and freight transportation, released its list of Top Logistics Companies in North America in its Monday, November 5 issue. Total Quality Logistics (TQL) is pleased to announce that it is now recognized as the second largest freight brokerage in North America.
The 15-year-old company has climbed steadily up in the publication’s rankings, which are based on revenue, since first appearing on the list of Top 25 Freight Brokerages in 2005. TQL has grown an average of 30% year-over-year since 1997, reaching a milestone of more than $1 billion in sales for the first time in 2011.
“We will continue to grow through our investments in people and technology,” said Kerry Byrne, TQL executive vice president. “Our expertly trained staff and industry-leading technology allow us to respond quickly and effectively to any truckload transportation need.”
“Recent studies by both Penn State University and the Georgia Center of Innovation for Logistics have stated this an industry for which there is enormous demand for trained workers,” said Byrne.
The Georgia study predicted that there would be more than one million job openings total nationwide in a logistics-related employment position through 2016.
TQL itself has added approximately 500 positions to its workforce in 2012. TQL is hiring for entry-level sales professionals to fill new office openings and expansions in its seventeen offices throughout the country.
Because logistics is not a field familiar to many skilled workers, TQL developed its own state-of-the-art training program years ago to help its workers transition into its organization and learn the vital skills necessary to manage transportation logistics.
