TQL Named One Of The Best Places To Work In Indiana; It's Hosting Open House And Moving To New Location To Accommodate Growth
Indianapolis – Total Quality Logistics (TQL) has been selected as one of the Best Places to Work in Indiana by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Top companies in Indiana are determined through employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys.
TQL looks to add up to 50 new salespeople to its Indianapolis office this year, which will be double the number agreed to in a recent incentive arrangement with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. The company announced last week that it will be hosting an open house on Saturday, March 9 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at its current office, 9000 Keystone Crossing, Suite 440. To accommodate the company’s planned growth in Indianapolis, TQL is moving to a new office space at the end of March on Purdue Road that is more than triple its current size.
TQL is the second largest freight brokerage in the nation, specializing in truckload transportation. The company connects shippers that have freight that needs to be transported with carriers that have the capacity to move it. TQL is headquartered in Cincinnati. Its Indianapolis satellite office opened less than two years ago with six employees. It now employs more than 70.
“We operate in a fast-paced industry that requires discipline and an outstanding work ethic,” said Kerry Byrne, TQL executive vice president. “In return, we offer employees an unlimited compensation structure and the opportunity for rapid advancement.”
More than 90% of the company’s current sales leadership team has been promoted from within. TQL salespeople are responsible for arranging the movement of more than 14,000 loads of freight every week, negotiating rates between shippers and carriers, and ensuring shipments arrive complete and on-time.
New hires with the company participate in a rigorous logistics and sales training program before starting to hunt for new clients. Once training is completed, the company offers its employees the opportunity to earn unlimited commissions on top of their base salary. The average compensation for a salesperson who has been selling with TQL for only two years is $60,632. For TQL’s top 20% of salespeople, compensation averages in the six figures.
To highlight the position’s earning potential, TQL is offering an interesting twist to its open house. Job seekers who attend will have the opportunity to win $60,632 from the TQL Prize Vault. Visitors simply have to choose the correct six-digit code to unlock the vault.*
“We work extremely hard here, but we also like to have fun,” said Byrne. “The Prize Vault is a way to show off the trademark TQL energy and excitement that we bring to everything we do.”
Job seekers can also tour the office, meet with recruiters, and learn more about the positions available. Qualified job seekers will be able to participate in on-site interviews. The Indianapolis sales office is located at 9000 Keystone Crossing, Suite 440.
Total Quality Logistics is the second largest freight brokerage in the nation, with more than $1.3 billion in annual sales. The company, founded in 1997, is privately-held and headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, with 17 additional satellite locations across the nation. TQL was ranked among the nation’s 150 Top Workplaces in 2013 in one of the largest-ever surveys of U.S. companies, with more than 1 million employees participating nationwide. TQL also was named by Inc. Magazine as a leading company for creating American jobs and by Glassdoor as one of the top companies for career opportunities. TQL employs more than 2,000 nationwide.
