TQL marks $1 million milestone with the American Cancer Society
TQL’s Cancer Awareness Month campaign featured donations, a show of strength, and a building lights display
Cincinnati (Oct. 30th, 2024) – Total Quality Logistics (TQL), the second largest freight brokerage in North America and one of the largest global third-party logistics firms, has now donated $1 million to the American Cancer Society (ACS) as part of its annual Cancer Awareness Month campaign.
Together with its employees, TQL donated $83,664 to ACS Tuesday, bringing TQL's total donation to more than $1 million since 2010.
“At TQL we say ‘no limits, no excuses’ – something the American Cancer Society understands as it works tirelessly to end cancer,” TQL President Kerry Byrne said. “We are proud to join in this fight.”
2,148 team members participated in multiple fundraising efforts, demonstrating how TQL supports causes that are important to its employees.
“We want to extend a monumental thank you to TQL as it hits the $1 million mark in financial support to the American Cancer Society,” said Lenora Oeters, American Cancer Society Vice President, Ohio and West Virginia. “The leadership and staff at TQL continue to demonstrate their passion for our mission and we have built a strong connection with them. As we celebrate this milestone, our collective focus will be to continue collaborating to realize our vision of ending cancer as we know it, for everyone.”
Following the check presentation, 1,400+ employees, friends and family participated in Push for a Cure – a push up challenge. Proving TQL community strength stretches across state lines, TQL’s 60+ offices across the country took part. This broke the company’s previous record of 734 push-ups, set in 2015 – a Guinness World Record at the time.
As the sun set on the event, TQL’s building lights clicked on – shining a light on cancer. The Cincinnati headquarters along I-275 has been lit up with the words “fight cancer” all month long. Meanwhile, inside employees have been hanging ribbons honoring the people close to them who have been diagnosed with cancer.
TQL’s combined fundraising and employee participation efforts show unity against a disease that affects so many.
