TQL Helps Homeless Pets with Moves that Matter Gift
Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Total Quality Logistics announced its March Moves That Matter recipient - the Humane Society of Broward County. The $1,000 grant assisted with its 27th annual Walk for the Animals event.
Moves That Matter benefits non-profit organizations who use the truckload transportation industry to move items that will help those in need. TQL employees, customers or carriers can nominate non-profit organizations with whom they have worked to help move an important load of freight.
TQL and the Humane Society of Broward County first connected in 2015 when the company helped transport items for the 2015 Walk for the Animals fundraiser, a 1.25 mile-long stroll for people and pets along the New River and through downtown Fort Lauderdale. The 2017 event was held Saturday, March 18 and drew more than 5,000 people and 2,500 dogs to Ft. Lauderdale’s Huizenga Plaza.
“TQL has become an important partner for the Walk for the Animals. As this event grows each year, TQL is there and ready to adjust and make sure everything is transported to our site on time and safely,” said Linda Sanders, Walk for the Animals Development Specialist. “They’re responsive, courteous, and a pleasure to work with, and we hope for a long future with TQL – a partner we highly recommend to any company, large or small.”
“This cause is one our team in Ft. Lauderdale is always excited to support,” said Kerry Byrne, TQL president. “The Walk for the Animals is a big event each year and we’re happy to help the Humane Society of Broward County make a greater impact connecting people and pets to their community.”
Moves That Matter began in 2014 with a gift to the Where Angels Play Foundation. Its mission is to “benefit charities and charitable entities arising from the experiences of TQL’s employees, customers and carriers. While some loads contain ordinary shipments, others contain something extraordinary. They contain hope and healing. They rouse us to take immense pride in our daily job.”
Moves That Matter is administered by TQL Cares, the company’s employee-driven community service initiative.
