Klosterman Baking Company & Total Quality Logistics Team Up to Provide Meals to Flood Victims

Cincinnati, OH –  Flood victims coping with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey will be given free meals thanks in part to a partnership between Cincinnati-based Total Quality Logistics and the Klosterman Baking Company.

Klosterman is donating a semi-trailer load of bread to Matthew 25: Ministries to help victims of Hurricane Harvey on Friday, Sept. 1. A TQL contracted semi will pick up the oven-fresh loaves of bread from at Klosterman’s Springfield, Ohio bakery and transport the bread over 1,400 miles to Corpus Christi, TX.  From there, the 13,000+ loaves of bread will be received by CitiIMPACT, an affiliate of Matthew 25: Ministries, who will use the bread to prepare and distribute more than 95,000 sandwiches to flood victims.

“Hurricane Harvey’s impact is catastrophic, and we wanted to do what we could to help,” said Chip Klosterman, President of Klosterman Baking Company. “Thanks in part to our relationship with Matthew 25: Ministries and TQL, we are able to respond quickly to an area in dire need,” he added.

It was Klosterman who reached out to executives at TQL to arrange the delivery of the load.  Thanks to TQL’s network of more than 60,000 carriers, the company was able to quickly secure a truck meeting the requirements of the load.

“There is so much need in the area impacted by Harvey,” said Kerry Byrne, President of TQL.  “We are just humbled to be able to do something to help.”
