[Chicago] – Total Quality Logistics (TQL), Clermont County’s largest employer, recently donated $1,000 to sponsor two local high school students in the Look to Clermont Leadership Program.
The Look to Clermont Leadership Program is sponsored by the Clermont County 20/20. Through various team-based and public speaking activities, attendees develop personal leadership and communication skills (both oral and written) as well as learn how to make better decisions, set goals and resolve conflicts. The students are also exposed to public policy matters such as government functions, economic & community development issues, as well as the health care, safety and justice systems.
The two students TQL is sponsoring currently attend Glen Este and Amelia High Schools. These schools are part of the West Clermont School District, the neighborhood where TQL’s headquarters is located.
To be eligible for the Look to Clermont Leadership opportunity, the students were required to have a 3.0 or higher GPA, regularly participate in school and community activities and conduct themselves with the highest standards of quality and integrity. By completing the nine month program, the students can also receive three quarters of college credit at the University of Cincinnati Clermont College.
“We are appreciative of TQL’s support for two of our local students enrolled in Clermont 20/20’s Look (youth) Leadership Program for the 2010-2011 school year,” said Chris Smith, Executive Director of Clermont County 20/20. “It is an effective leadership development program giving participating students valuable skills and abilities for future success in their personal and professional lives.”
In addition to its office located off of I-275 in Eastgate, TQL has offices in Milford, OH; Chicago, IL; Charlotte, NC; Tampa, FL; and Charleston, SC. The company plans on opening offices in Columbus, OH and Denver, CO in January of 2011 and additional offices later in the year. Last year, TQL arranged more than 300,000 shipments for 7,000 clients and posted sales of $523 million. TQL is ranked by Transport Topics, a leading trade publication, as the 4th largest firm in the freight brokerage industry.
