TQL Cancer Awareness Month 2022: We’re Pulling for You

This October, TQL put literal muscle behind the fight against cancer. A semi-truck pulling competition “Pull for a Cure” was the finale to another record-breaking Cancer Awareness Month that resulted in raising $141,201 for the American Cancer Society (ACS).

The 20% increase from last year’s gift was raised through two campaigns: Loads for a Cure and Pull for a Cure. TQL made a donation to the ACS for every load moved Oct. 10-16 and tallied nearly $67,000 through Loads for a Cure.

During Pull for a Cure, TQL teams nationwide raised $74,500 with the company match as part of a fundraising competition. The top fundraising teams sent one member to headquarters for a semitruck-pulling competition at headquarters Oct. 25. Four teams of 10 competed to pull a 34,000-pound truck 240 feet.

The Patio Party was a display of brute strength and determination as the teams vied for bragging rights and the championship title. TQL’ers from all over the country cheered them on from the sidelines or virtually as they watched online. Team Knipper triumphed in 34 seconds, a tribute to pullers Wesley, TQL Akron; Simon, Pittsburgh; Jesse, Raleigh; Ben, Knoxville; Chris, Greenville; Wes, Birmingham; Alexander, Jacksonville; Zev, Fort Lauderdale; Jordan, Cincinnati; and Peter, Cincinnati.

Pull for a Cure ended with a check presentation to the ACS.

TQL has raised over $770,000 for the nonprofit organization since partnering with it in 2010. Although TQL raised funds specifically for breast cancer awareness when it initially teamed up with the American Cancer Society, team members’ feedback led to the fight for all cancer. A significant uptick in donations and participation followed.
