Tampa, Lexington, Chicago Start Tourney Strong
Yes, the Derby Party was a couple weeks back, but that doesn’t mean the running ended. Basketball jocks from across the company tipped off the annual TQL 3-on-3 basketball tournament in Cincinnati May 19, playing about 20 games opening night.
Every team but two played at least one game. Eliminations in the two-and-out format begin tonight.
Opening-round statistics included one dunk thrown down, one injury and – not surprising at all - more pizza downed than jump shots.
Past that, courtside wags observed a lot more fade-away jumpers than players going to the hoop. Expect that to change in the second round as teams get past the nerves and realize only the strong survive.
Action continues on the TQL Court all week until the champion is crowned during Friday’s patio party.
