Meet Brianna, a Branch Team Leader.
Share your story of how you became successful at TQL.
I started at TQL in 2020 and haven't looked back. I started as an LAET under Jay Tackett and worked my way up to SGL, STL and now BTL. I became successful in these roles by diving headfirst into leadership and being a sponge to all advice and criticism. Once I got comfortable, I incorporated my own ideas.
What qualities or personality traits have propelled you to where you are today?
I am very hardworking. I also hold myself accountable and lead by example. If my team has to prospect 100 calls in a day for a buy back challenge, I do too.
What is the best career advice you’ve received and given?
The squeaky wheel gets the grease. For a long time, I thought hard work would get noticed - which it does to some extent. But if you want something at the company, you have to prove you are the obvious choice. You do this by working hard and vocalizing what you want/need.
Do you have a TQL mentor? If so, how is that beneficial to you?
Yes, I do. It helps to have a go-to person who has watched you grow in leadership. They know your personality and how far you have come, and they can give advice tailored to their experience with you.
How do you maintain work-life balance?
I go to the gym a lot and get into the office early. Our team comes in twice a week at 5 a.m. Each day outside of this, I get in by 6:45 a.m. Doing this allows me to fully prepare for each day and create a checklist. I know exactly what I have to do by 5 p.m. Except for emergency situations, my book and team are completely taken care of by then, and I can enjoy my after-hours. After-hours are spent with family and friends, racing triathlons and traveling.
