Did someone say three-peat? TQL celebrates another major milestone
TQL celebrated a third straight year of milestone achievements by hosting a party for all 56 offices, giving away eight brand new cars to employees, awarding $240,000 to charity and hosting a spectacular fireworks display at HQ campus Jan. 27.
Through COVID, a supply chain crisis and the beginning of a shipping recession, TQL hustled harder than the competition to reach new heights. TQL’ers wearing red T-shirts bearing the “No limits, no excuses” motto gathered in the festively decorated cafeteria and gathered in satellite offices parties to watch a live stream.
What’s a party without food and drink? Across the country, TQL’ers feasted on food ranging from taco bars to barbecue, and at TQL HQ they enjoyed specially branded TQL beer. DJ JonJon blasted music as people settled into viewing locations on site and across the country.
President Kerry Byrne stepped on stage and spoke about TQL’s strides in the last year, a tribute to everyone’s hard work, before spinning a large prize wheel for the car giveaway.
Eighty employees were eligible to win after being randomly selected the prior week. Ten contestants in each of the eight rounds stood on stage or in their offices holding cards bearing numbers one through 10. They anxiously awaited the prize wheel’s stop on one of those numbers.
And then, pandemonium. Some winners danced around their conference rooms. Others were mobbed by team members.
The new car winners were Kwame of Columbus, Ohio; Michelle of Charleston, S.C.; Maria of Denver, Colo.; Isaac of Detroit, Mich.; Jose of San Antonio, Texas; Maria of Tampa, Fla.; Cara of Cincinnati Ivy Pointe and Ciera of Cincinnati Edison.
TQL incorporated a charitable aspect into this year’s event by donating to eight nonprofits determined by employee choice. Each charity received a portion of the $240,000, with $100,000 going to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
The event culminated in a livestreamed fireworks show over HQ, giving the finale a distinctly summer feel while honoring the people behind TQL. The milestone achievement is what TQL is all about – working hard, winning big and giving back.
