TQL Selected To Testify For Congressional Subcommittee
Total Quality Logistics will discuss best practices for veteran hiring during a public forum in Cincinnati.
U.S. Representative Dr. Brad Wenstrup – an Army veteran – invited GSM Jeff C. to testify for a Congressional field hearing in his home district.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Feb. 19, at Anderson Center, 7850 Five Mile Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45230.
“As a member of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs and chairman of the Economic Opportunity Subcommittee, much of my work in Congress focuses on opening opportunities for veterans to transition smoothly into civilian life and find employment,” Wenstrup said.
“Ohio employers have a strong record of hiring veterans and we’re taking this opportunity to learn their best practices.”
Jeff C. – also an Army vet - will talk about some of the reasons TQL likes working with military employees.
“This isn’t a job most people coming out of school or the military have trained for. We train our own experts through a five-month training program, similar to what service members experience in the military.
“The skills that make one successful in brokering freight are similar to those taught in the military - the ability to learn new skills and concepts quickly, adopt a mission-driven philosophy and put forth core values to exceed expectations.”
Following the testimony, Wenstrup hosts a veterans’ job fair from noon to 2 p.m. featuring TQL military recruiter LeeAnn R., along with about 40 other area companies.
“This is a great opportunity for vets and a great opportunity for TQL to be in front of some of the best potential employees in the area,” LeeAnn said. “I’m looking forward to meeting people and finding our next success story.”
TQL is proud of its work recruiting military employees. Vets, reservists and National Guard members thinking about joining another elite team should consider a career at TQL.
