TQL Sets Guinness World Record
Total Quality Logistics is “officially amazing,” proclaims the plaque from GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS®. The company and community banded together to break the year-old record for most people doing push ups together at one location while raising $18K (and counting) for the Boot Campaign.
TQL beat the old record of 615 people – set in Bangalore, India, - by having 734 people complete a minute of push ups together on Thursday, August 27. The event was part of an effort to raise awareness and funds for the Boot Campaign to support military service members and their families.
TQL satellite offices also participated in an unofficial attempt on the world record for most people doing push ups in multiple locations. All told, 1,053 people across the country were doing push ups together to support our troops.
Among those participating were TQL employees and family members – including one man who did his push ups with his toddler child on his back - The Clermont County Chamber of Commerce, representatives from the Yellow Ribbon Campaign, local youth soccer teams and high school cross country runners.
Both the University of Cincinnati Air Force ROTC and the All For One BN Army ROTC - with representatives from Xavier University, Miami University, Northern Kentucky University, the College of Mount St. Joseph and Thomas More College - sent contingents of cadets.
Jungle Jim’s International Market in Eastgate donated snacks and drinks. Contestants also enjoyed LaRosa’s pizza while snapping selfies with the Guinness adjudicator after setting the new mark.
Military support is - and has been for many years - a focus area for TQL Cares, the company's charitable and community engagement umbrella. TQL teams from across the country have been participating in the Push ups for Charity competition for more than a week and have already raised $4,000 for the organization -- and TQL is matching that dollar for dollar. TQL will add an additional $10,000 gift to its final grand total on September 3 to celebrate this world record success.
