TQL Salutes Our Troops
May is a special month for TQL, as we show our support for active duty military and veterans through fundraising and recognition.
For the past thirteen years, we have made it a priority to show our support and contribute to military non-profits. This May, we set a record by raising almost $57,000 through our Hauls for Heroes campaign. A donation was made for every load of freight arranged by TQL from May 10th to May 16th. We proudly gifted our donation to the United Service Organizations of Ohio (USO Ohio) and Disabled American Veterans (DAV) during a check presentation ceremony.
“We are privileged to again be partnering with the USO and DAV,” said Corey D., Corporate Giving Manager. “They do such important work to care for our service members and veterans.”
After the check presentation ceremony, employees at TQL headquarters were able to show their support by volunteering at our “Helpy Hour” event. Together, we assembled more than 2,300 care packages for the USO to distribute. Volunteers enjoyed beer, wine and snacks throughout the evening as they assembled the care packages that were customized online earlier in the month.
It is important to us that our appreciation extends to military members and veterans beyond those that are in close physical proximity to us. This year we utilized the power of social media as a part of our military appreciation month efforts. Downloadable virtual tribute ribbons were accessible to the public through our website. We encouraged social media users to post these ribbons with #TQLMilitaryMonth as a sign of honor and respect.
As the month comes to an end, our appreciation for those serving our country doesn’t stop. We are committed to showing support and gratitude for our military and veteran service members year-round.
